Workforce Development Committee-Ready to Work: After the Interview - Preregistration is closed. Walk-ins are welcome

A common mistake made in post-interview follow-ups is asking only about your status as a candidate. It's not enough to ask if a decision has been made yet. You need to cultivate the offer by confirming your qualifications for the position, providing additional information if necessary, and continuing to express interest in the position. Though these techniques won't guarantee you the position, it can't hurt if it gets the interviewer in your corner! In this hour, we’ll discuss:

• Evaluating your performance in the interview

• Writing a thank you letter that increases your chances of getting called back

• Staying fresh on your interviewer’s mind

• What NOT to do

Ready to Work consists of an encouragement network hour, led by Ardell Fleeson, followed by a job search skills practicum, facilitated by Workforce Development Committee member and Certified Career Coach, Judy Brannock. Each session includes tips, observations, realities, good news, and food for thought for the job seeker. Guest speakers, those with expertise in the job search and human resources areas and those who have recently found work, often address the group to share keys to their success. Participants will have the opportunity to share recent challenges and achievements.
