WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES WINNERS FOR ITS
ELEVENTH ANNUAL LEADERSHIP AWARDS
 
Winners Celebrated at May 20, 2010 Awards Gala at the Ritz Carlton, Tysons Corner
 
                   
FAIRFAX, Va. – May 21, 2010 – Women in Technology (WITSM), the premier organization contributing to the success of professional women in the Washington technology community, today announced the winners of the Eleventh Annual Women in Technology Leadership Awards. The 2010 Leadership Awards honor women who have excelled as mentors, leaders and role models in their professional endeavors and communities, and embody the WIT mission.

“With the addition of four new award categories, WIT broadened the scope of exceptional women who were named Leadership Awards winners,” said Toni Townes-Whitley, president of WIT. “The awardees are true architects of change in the technology community and representative of WIT’s new mantra: advancing technology one woman at a time.   We congratulate them and include them among a decade of WIT’s leading women.”
Winners were recognized in the following categories:

  • Public Sector (Large): Diane B. Gongaware, Director of Operations, Civilian Agencies, Cisco Systems, Inc.
  • Public Sector (Small): Ola Sage, President & CEO, e-Management
  • Entrepreneur: Lynn Ann Casey, CEO, Arc Aspicio
  • Government: Jo Ann Jenkins, Chief Operating Officer, Library of Congress
  • Health IT: Dr. Claire M. Fraser-Liggett, Director, Institute for Genome Sciences at the University of Maryland School of Medicine
  • Global Impact: Susan C. Aldridge, Ph.D., President, University of Maryland University College and Siobhan Green, CEO & Lead Technology Strategist and Information Architect, Sonjara
